lazy day!

this is the first day in almost a month whre I can sit back and do almost absolutely nothing! If I wanted to of course :) a while ago I called and put our cable on hold for about 6 months for money saving purposes, but today we decided to have it taken off hold and turned back on. I'm not one that needs to watch TV all the time...but some days it gets SO boring without it! Nonetheless, I do have a SMALL to do list for today that I might get around to later...

*go to the bank
*watch tv & record some much missed shows(!!)
*blog to catch up
*make some decoupage notebooks and update etsy
*clean around the house
*edit pictures

yep I think thats it for now. I'm going to relax and enjoy the nothingness of today. i might bake, I might do some crafts, I might play wii...who knows!

I've decided to sell some custom announcements etc, on our etsy..I'll update the shop with them soon. :)

I will leave you with some pictures from vacation bible school this week! It was a blast and I'm so happy to have met such wonderful kids!

Notebook Decoupage

A few months ago I started carrying a small notebook with me, because I have a terrible memory. And by terrible I mean almost worse than your grandma. I could kick myself, seriously. I'm always forgetting things, ideas, pretty much everything... so I write things down. Or if I hear something like a quote that I want to remember or an idea for a picture or craft, a to do list, blah blah blah, I write it down. It's nothing fancy, no $8 Moleskine, just a small pocket notebook for $1 at Joann Fabrics. I painted my last one, just to spruce it up a bit. For this one I wanted to use Mod Podge so I covered it with leftover scrap paper...and this is what I got.





I've grown to love Mod Podge, it's so useful for just about everything. This project literally took me MAYBE 20 minutes minus drying time. I also made an "M" last week, just a little sumthin sumthin for our ladder shelf in the living room...



So I encourage you to try it, you won't be able to put it down!

Oh Oh OH!!! and CONGRATULATIONS to my brother in law Seth and future sister in law Jess on their engagement this weekend! :) woot woot! So cute!

has anyone else tried these? Jake ran across them today and we just had to try them out. I must say, they were pretty dang good.

Forgive me, I was killing time waiting for jake to get out of class tonight. Thus, boredom gets you photo booth frivolity!

Hair cut!

I seriously haven’t cut or trimmed my hair in over a year, it’s disgusting and long and hot in the summer. But I have a long overdue appointment this afternoon!

This picture was taken like 4 months ago, so it’s even longer than this, truthfully!! Don’t get me wrong, I love long hair. I grew up with it for most of my life, but that time has ended and today is the day! I love hair appointments, they wash & blow dry your hair for you, while you just sit back and watch the magic. what a relaxing relief. 

 

AND I made $77.75 at Plato’s Closet this morning. now seriously, how many of you have made more than $20 at that place? Not me, usually anyways. I always walk out feeling like I wasted my time, but not today my dears, not today :)
